What if reconciliation is not a secondary issue in the gospel, but at its very heart? Owen Hylton shows that God is, by nature, a reconciling God: restoring broken relationships with Himself and calling His people to do the same with one another.

'When we become new creations in Christ Jesus, our primary identity is in Christ,' observes Owen Hylton. Born into a black West Indian family, but living primarily in a white British world, he never felt entirely accepted in either place. 'Realising that my identity was first and foremost in Christ was incredibly releasing,' he admits.

“I’m genuinely grateful for this book, both as Owen’s friend and as a local church pastor. I’ve seen some of the journey behind these pages, and that’s what gives the book its weight.”

Oliver Stevens, pastor of Kings Church, Eastbourne

“Owen invites us into the active, costly, and transformative process of biblical reconciliation that actually makes peace, so that we may truly say we are all one in Christ Jesus. It’s encouraging and provoking at the same time”

Jim Partridge, pastor of Kings Church, Mid-Sussex

“The Reconciled Church reminded me that facing hard truths doesn’t kill hope, it brings it alive. So, at a time when we’re tempted to either avoid difficult conversations or get stuck in them, this book calls us to stop sidestepping what God is asking us to address and instead trust the reconciling power of the gospel.”

Nicholas Ferguson, BSc (Hons), Dip. Couns. MBACP, therapist and coach

Filled with hard-earned wisdom gained through years of pastoring experience, Owen brings important teaching about grace for those who have felt on opposite sides of dividing walls of hostility. His pastoral and powerful words for diaspora Christians will stir readers to be a blessing in the UK. I heartily recommend The Reconciled Church to the UK Church in our day.
